Frank Dolinar gave an excellent presentation demonstrating West Wind WebConnect. West Wind WebConnection is a Web application framework for delivering e-business solutions especially for Visual FoxPro developers. The latest version is 4.60. You can find more about West Wind WebConnection on the Internet at http://west-wind.com/webconnection/docs/wconnect.html
Frank Dolinar used the West Wind WebConnection to build an inventory database application to track samples for the MSU DNA Sequencing Laboratory where the end-users (researchers) and lab staff can only access the system from their Internet browser. Not only was he able to solve the complications using WebConnection he also designed the screens to use colors and backgrounds to help the user's recognize that they were in a different place in the system. These visual clues really help the end user to navigate through a system with greater ease.

Our next meeting is scheduled for April 16, 2005. We are pleased to announce our speaker will be Mike Levy. Michael Levy specializes in using Visual Studio and SQL Server to solve business problems. He is a consultant and also a MCSD, MCDBA and MCT. Mike is going to discuss topics relating to SQL Server 2005.
The group is planning on taking Mike out to lunch after the meeting and everyone is welcome to join. If you are interested, please speak up when the meeting is ‘breaking up’ so we can decide where to go. (and don’t forget to warn your significant other or animals that you are having way too much fun to come home right at noon!)
If you too wish to volunteer to be a speaker for a future meeting, information and a link for topic submission can be found on our website: http://www.GRAFUG.com.
